He said, “This is an opportunity for Indonesian Coast Guard officers and sailors to spread messages and share the beautiful image of the Indonesian people and nation to our Vietnamese friends in general and the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard in particular. Speaking at the ceremony, Col. Dong expressed his joy and appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Indonesian Coast Guard. He recalled the memorable visit of Indonesian Coast Guard Vessel KN Pulau Dana 323 to Coast Guard Region 3 in October 2024, highlighting that reciprocal visits of this kind create valuable opportunities for officers and sailors of both sides to exchange experience, particularly in the field of maritime law enforcement.
Following the ceremony, Vice Admiral Irvansyah, together with Indonesian Coast Guard officers and sailors, toured the CSB 8001 and held exchanges with their Vietnamese peers.
As part of the visit and exchange program in Indonesia, the Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to attend a bilateral conference, pay courtesy calls on leaders of Jakarta city and the Indonesian Coast Guard, engage in sports exchanges with Indonesian Coast Guard officers and sailors, and participate in cultural tours of Jakarta. Notably, the two forces will also conduct joint training activities at sea.
