Director of the Lao hospital Colonel Savengxay Dalasath affirmed that the success of the two kidney transplants, with the support of the Vietnamese medial military staff, was a historical milestone of the country’s medical sector. He also underscored that it showed the great traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, and mutual support between the two militaries and countries.

After that, as requested by the Lao People’s Army and approved by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnamese military hospital would continue to support the Lao side to implement kidney transplant.

Last July, a delegation of experts from Vietnamese Military Hospital 103 visited Laos and received warm reception from the host country. On the occasion, the Vietnamese military doctors assisted the Lao hospital in performing the third kidney transplant.

Despite difficulties and challenges facing the Vietnamese doctors, they actively instructed their Lao counterparts to be well aware of their task performance. The Lao doctors have actively made preparations for the transplant while taking care of patients after kidney transplant.

After six kidney transplants, the Lao medical military doctors have improved their competence and been active during task performance.

Colonel Savengxay Dalasath expressed his hope that in the coming time, the support of the Vietnamese side would pave the way for Lao Central Military Hospital 103 to master all techniques during kidney transplant in the future.
