Up to now, the Vietnam Military History Institute has organized nine refresher courses for Lao officers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute, underlined the importance of the course, contributing to improving the efficiency of managing and researching military history and summarizing the war, and reviewing military-defense tasks.

According to Gen. Nhien, among 25 Lao trainees, the freshly-employed ones will be equipped with basic knowledge related to military history research methodology while the veteran ones will be provided with experience in military history research, and war summarization.

Meanwhile, the trainees will have a chance to share experience in military history research in several military units and have field trips to Vietnam’s famous historical relics.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Mixay Sulinkkhamsy, Head of the Lao officer delegation, said that the refresher course offers participating officers a chance to broaden their knowledge about military history, affirming that Lao officers will creatively apply acquired knowledge to reality, contributing to improving the efficiency of military history research and war summarization.
