At the academy, on behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Col. Hai thanked the academy for the warm reception, expressing his delight at visiting beautiful Yeosu city as well as the achievements in socio-economy, security, and defense of South Jeolla province.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation affirmed the significance of the visit, which contributed to actualizing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two forces signed in 2007.

Via the visit, both sides had the chance to exchange experience in law enforcement at sea, thereby boosting friendship, cooperation, understanding, and mutual trust between the two countries.

For his part, Superintendent General Han Sang Chul, President of the Korea Coast Guard Academy, welcomed the Vietnamese mission to Yeosu city. He hoped that the visit of the Vietnam Coast Guard will make further contribution to promoting cooperation between the two coast guard forces in particular and between local authorities and people of South Yeolla and Vietnamese localities and people in general, contributing to deepening the comprehensive cooperation relations of the two governments.

Delegates of the Vietnam Coast Guard mission toured the academy’s training area for maritime operations, search and rescue, and at-sea oil spill response.

The same day, the two sides visited each other’s ship, namely Coast Guard Ship 8004 of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Ship 3011 of the Korea Coast Guard Academy.
