Vietnam - China traditional friendship and solidarity to be further promoted
PANO - Following activities in the framework of the eighth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, on April 12, Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang and his Chinese counterpart Three-star Dong Jun, together with the high-ranking military delegations of both sides, visited Beishan Primary School and Batiaoban village in Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan province, China.
Visiting Beishan Primary School, the two defense ministers expressed their delights at the warm reception of the school’s teachers and students.

Inquiring after and encouraging the teachers and students, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee Giang Thi Dung underscored that over the past years, the Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange has promoted friendship and cooperation between localities and people along the shared borderline, contributing to building the Vietnam - China borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development, creating favorable conditions for the students to study and make contribution to the country. She believed that in the coming time, Beishan Primary School would promote its achievements to raise education and training quality.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese and Chinese defense ministers presented meaningful gifts to Beishan Primary School, hoping that they would inspire the students here so that they would become young ambassadors to foster the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and China.

* Leaving the school, Defense Ministers Phan Van Giang and Dong Jun, together with the delegations, visited Batiaoban village in Honghe prefecture, Yunnan province, China. They were welcomed according to the local special ceremony.

Batiaoban is home to five ethnic minority groups with 31 households and 109 residents. Over the past time, the locality has set a good example of building the village of happiness, stability, and beauty.

Handing over gifts to the locality, the two defense ministers hoped that it would be further developed and there will be more exchange activities with Vietnamese side, so as to boost mutual understanding, thereby beefing up economic development along the border area.
