Vietnam and RoK to boost defense cooperation
PANO - Vietnam treasures and wants to expand defense cooperation with the Republic of Korea, affirmed Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, during a reception for Major General Ji Young Quan, Chief of Staff of the RoK’s Defense Security Command, in Hanoi on March 20.

General Van emphasized the importance of exchanges among military units of the two countries which will help strengthen the mutual understanding and trust between the two militaries and peoples and contribute to beefing up Vietnam-RoK defense cooperation to be on par with the two countries’ strategic partnership.
For his part, the Korean General affirmed to boost cooperation with Vietnam in such fields as IT, UN peacekeeping operations, linguistic training, humanitarian activities, defense industry, search and rescue, and military medicine. The guest also wanted to strengthen ties between the two countries’ coastguard forces.
