PANO - Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) should further develop their defense ties to be on a par with the development of the bilateral relationship.

Addressing the reception given to the visiting delegation of the High Court for Armed Forces of the RoK Ministry of National Defense led by its Chief Judge, Brigadier Heung-seok Kim in Hanoi yesterday, Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army emphasized that the Korean delegation’s visit to Vietnam took place at the time when the Vietnam-RoK’s relations is developing. Therefore, more visit exchanges between agencies of the two defense ministries would help further enhance the bilateral relationship, mutual understanding and trust between the two armies and peoples in the time to come.

For his part, Brigadier Heung-seok Kim hailed the two countries’ flourishing ties, particularly the recent outcomes of defense cooperation, including the signing of the memorandum of understanding on bilateral defense cooperation in 2010 and meetings of the Bilateral Defense Strategic Dialogue since 2012.

The Korean guest also underscored that the two countries have been promoting their defense ties in various fields in a deeper and more effective manner in line with their bilateral strategic partnership.
