General Vinh held that the dialogue would help the two defense ministries seek more cooperation opportunities, contributing to creating a new momentum to promote friendship, mutual understanding and trust, defense relations to be on par with the strategic partnership between the two countries.

According to General Vinh, Vietnam has always supported the policy of peace, reconciliation, observance of international laws, and denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula.

The Vietnamese general proposed that the two sides would continue organizing exchanges and visits at all levels and base on the deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue to develop defense cooperation. He also discussed with the RoK’s side on the cooperation potentials such as coast guard, defense industry, search and rescue, and military medicine.

Vietnam is willing to create favorable conditions for the RoK businesses to invest in the Vietnamese defense industry, said the Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister.

The RoK Deputy Minister of Defense held that the deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogues between the two defense ministries have gained pragmatic results over the last five years, contributing to flourishing the bilateral relationship. He shared the same view with General Vinh’s proposals and confirmed that the RoK Ministry of Defense expects to increase practical cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, especially in information technology, peacekeeping, foreign language training, humanitarian activities, search and rescue, and coast guard.
