Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn and the delegation expressed deep appreciation for the professionalism, modernity, and dedication of Vietnam’s military medical forces.

Meeting with Vietnam’s U.N. peacekeepers, Governor-General Sam Mostyn affirmed that over the past 14 years, the Ministries of National Defense of Vietnam and Australia have built close cooperation in peacekeeping, with Military Hospital 175 making significant contribution. She noted that the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024 has created new opportunities for deeper peacekeeping collaboration, and praised Vietnamese contribution in South Sudan and other U.N. missions as proof of the competence and rising international reputation of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Australia will continue to help Vietnam to transport its Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 to South Sudan with thorough preparation. Governor-General Sam Mostyn conveyed her best wishes to the Vietnamese peacekeeping force, expressing confidence that they will successfully fulfill their international mission and return home safely with pride.

Leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Hospital 175, and Ho Chi Minh City then held a birthday celebration for the Governor-General. She expressed her gratitude for the friendly gesture, calling it a memorable highlight of her visit. In the hospital courtyard, Governor-General Sam Mostyn joined defense leaders in planting a commemorative tree, symbolizing peace, friendship, and long-standing cooperation between the two nations.

The same day, at the Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City, Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, met with the Australian Governor-General.
