Speaking at the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien, who is also Head of the Inter-sectoral Working Group and Head of the Defense Ministry's Steering Committee on Vietnam’s Participation in U.N. Peacekeeping Operations, congratulated Maj. Long on his participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations and commended the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VNDPKO) for its thorough preparation and training of forces for the mission.

The defense leader expressed confidence that Maj. Long would demonstrate resilience and a strong sense of responsibility to overcome challenges to successfully fulfill his duties. He urged the officer to strictly adhere to the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, the military disciplines, and the regulations of the U.N. and the host country; to ensure absolute safety throughout his term of service.
He also requested Maj. Long to uphold the proud traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, show a strong sense of responsibility and pro-activeness in learning and cooperating with international colleagues, and confidently demonstrate professional competence to contribute to spreading the noble qualities of the Vietnam People’s Army, “Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” the country and its people.
According to Sr. Lt. Gen. Chien, nearly 1,100 military officers and non-commissioned officers have been deployed in both individual and unit forms. He added that in the coming time, more outstanding individuals and units from Vietnam will join the U.N. peacekeeping operations.

The VNDPKO’s Director Major General Pham Manh Thang said that Maj. Su Tan Phi Long has undergone thorough and professional training for this deployment, meeting the requirements of both the U.N. and the Ministry of National Defense to fulfill peacekeeping duties. As of now, all preparations for Maj. Long’s deployment have been basically completed, and he is ready to depart for MINUSCA on April 28.

Speaking at the event, Major Long expressed the honor to participate in the peacekeeping mission. The officer said that he deeply understands this is not only a great honor but also a significant responsibility entrusted to him by the Party, the State, the military, and the people.

Maj. Long stated that he has thoroughly prepared in all aspects, from political stance, steadfastness, professional competence, foreign language skills, to health and determination, for the mission. He affirmed that he is ready to depart with the highest level of determination.
