In the sea phase, the Vietnamese frigate is among the seven warships of the third tactical group including India, France, Sri Lanka, Seychelles. Six remaining warships belong to the two other tactical groups.

They will practice communication, mobilization in formation, air logistics, and boat training. They will also fire artillery guns, handle situations at sea, such as saving people falling into the water, and deal with mechanical and technical problems.

As envisaged, the 016-Quang Trung of Vietnam will maneuver 500 nautical miles in 56 hours. After the exercise, participating ships will draw lessons on the command ship flying the Indian flag.

Apart from 13 warships, one submarine, two sailing ships, and four helicopters from the host country India and other participating countries will join the sea phase.

In this phase, participating warships will carry out registered operation contents, including hitting targets at sea, in the air, performing anti-submarine warfare, and tactical maneuvers, among others.

With good preparation of weapons and technical equipment, and with rich experience and capability, the crew-members of the 016-Quang Trung are determined to fulfill their duties in the sea phase.

Senior Captain Nguyen Van Ngan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Naval Region 4, confirmed that participating in the sea phase is a good opportunity for the Vietnam People’s Navy to show their professional expertise and mastering of weapons and technical equipment and to boost coordination with other participating navies.
