On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung congratulated MINUSCA units for coordinating with the host country to secure the first round of presidential, parliamentary, and local elections. He hailed this as a crucial milestone for regional stability.
The official affirmed that Vietnam views U.N. peacekeeping as a priority political task, demonstrating its commitment to international security. Since 2014, the Vietnamese force has matured into a reliable U.N. partner. He also briefed the hosts on the deployment of Vietnamese military and public security personnel, both individuals and units, to missions in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Abyei area, and U.N. Headquarters.

Emphasizing that the deployed forces have excelled in their duties and discipline, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung stated these results reflect Vietnam’s commitment to international peace and its readiness to address global challenges.
Acknowledging MINUSCA’s support, the Deputy Minister requested that mission leaders propose for the U.N. to invite Vietnam to deploy more individual officers and the Police Unit Rotation 1. He also asked the mission to facilitate the delegation’s visit to learn from the experiences of other countries currently deploying police units at MINUSCA.

MINUSCA pledged to provide the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese People’s Public Security officers to fulfill their duties.
On the same day, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung and the delegation attended a ceremony where MINUSCA Police awarded the U.N. Medal to six People’s Public Security officers of Working Group No.6, honoring their dedication.
