The Lao delegation welcomed at the Da Nang Municipal Military Command

In recent years, the Municipal Military Command has coordinated with Lao sides to implement many practical and meaningful activities, including joint disaster prevention and search and rescue exercises in border areas, free health check-ups and medicine provision, presenting gifts to people in border villages, and organizing exchanges of delegations and families of military officers for visits and interaction between localities.

For the Military Command of Sekong province, the unit has supported the construction of various friendship projects such as barracks for military commands in Tha Teng and Dak Cheung districts, border companies, and training grounds. For Salavan Provincial Military Command, it has supported the construction of office buildings for the provincial command, guard houses at local military schools, flag-raising grandstands, and other essential facilities.

An overview of the visit

Beyond infrastructure support, it has actively fostered ties among the younger generations of both countries. Over the past two years, it has organized meetings with Lao students studying at universities and colleges in southern Da Nang. In 2025, the unit completed a documentary film highlighting solidarity, friendship, and cooperation achievements between the two sides since 1997.

At the meeting, the Lao head delegate expressed sincere thanks to the host for the respectful, thoughtful, and heartfelt reception and highly appreciated the sentiments, attention, and practical support extended to the Lao military and people in recent years.
