L2FH Rotation 5 offering incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

The ceremony was jointly held by the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VNDPKO) and Military Hospital 175.

Present at the ceremony were VNDPKO Deputy Director Senior Colonel Nguyen Nhu Canh; Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175 Senior Colonel Bui Duc Thanh; and 63 officers and staff of L2FH Rotation 5.

During performing U.N. peacekeeping duties in South Sudan, L2FH Rotation 5 provided health examinations and treatment for nearly 2,400 patients; conducted five charity programs in the series of its civilian-military coordination (CIMIC) activities.

Meanwhile, the hospital hosted two training courses on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with U.S. standards for medical staff in Bentiu and organized a scientific conference with three presenters from L2FH Rotation 5, creating a connection among civilian and military medical experts and local authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of L2FH Rotation 5 Nguyen Ha Ngoc said that L2FH Rotation 5’s officers and staff were proud to carry out international missions, participating in the U.N. peacekeeping force in South Sudan. All of them were honored to report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh after returning home. This was the driving force for them to continue to cultivate, train, and maintain revolutionary ethics, further study to improve their expertise, and stay ready to receive and successfully complete all assigned tasks.

For his part, Sr. Col. Nguyen Nhu Canh applauded the outstanding achievements obtained by L2FH Rotation 5’s officers and staff during their term at UNMISS. He said that their obtained results have contributed to brightening the images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the eyes of international friends and people in the host country. The success of L2FH Rotation 5 will surely motivate the next field hospitals to promote the tradition and strive to achieve higher outcomes.
