The delegation includes 345 officers, sailors and cadets.

The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening the Vietnam-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, while enhancing cooperation between the two navies in maritime experience exchange, search and rescue, and peacekeeping operations. It also aims to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding and friendship between people of both countries.

Right after the welcoming ceremony, crew-members and the ship’s band staged a marching parade and musical performance at Saigon-Hiep Phuoc port.

During their stay, KRI Bima Suci’s Chain-of-Command and crew will lay flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument, pay courtesy calls on city leaders, visit Military Region 7 Command, and take part in a range of cultural and sports exchanges with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2 and local people.

KRI Bima Suci is among the largest naval training sailing ship in Southeast Asia. Commissioned in 2017, the vessel is equipped with advanced and modern maritime systems.
