The Indonesian navy on Dec.18 staged an amphibious exercise, which was dubbed "Armada Jaya,” Indonesian Navy Chief Admiral Slamet Soebijianto said at the Eastern Fleet Command`s Sea Operations Training Center, Surabaya, East Java.
The exercise involving 5,730 personnel, 28 warships of different types, five maritime reconnaisance planes, five howitzers, two Marine Corps Grad RM vehicles, two helicopters and 10 tanks will last until January.22, 2007 the Indonesian Antara news agency reported.
