Gen. Giang is leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam to officially visit Cambodia, take part in the meeting among defense ministers of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and witness the joint search and rescue exercise among the three countries’ militaries.

The Vietnamese defense chief conveyed the regards and wishes of Party General Secretary To Lam and other senior leaders of Vietnam to President Hun Sen. He congratulated Cambodia on its great and comprehensive achievements under the leadership of the CPP over the past more than 70 years. He believed that under the CPP leadership, headed by President Hun Sen, and with the executive power of the government and Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia will gain bigger attainments in national construction and development cause and victoriously implement the Political Platform of the CPP in the 2023-2028 period.

He confirmed that Vietnam always treasures and gives top priority to constant development of its “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability” with Cambodia. He also stressed that Vietnam always reserves the highest support to the CPP and an independent, peaceful and developing Cambodia with a bigger role in international arena.
President Hun Sen conveyed his regards to Party chief To Lam and other senior leaders of Vietnam. He underlined that Gen. Giang’s visit would help consolidate the two countries and militaries’ friendship and close-knit ties. He wished the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, new achievements and stressed that Vietnam’s development would help Cambodia and Laos develop.
The Cambodian leader affirmed that Cambodia will always preserve and nurture the increasingly developing relations between the two parties, states, people.
At the meeting, the guest and host highly praised the two nations’ cooperation outcomes and mutual support in the past struggle for national salvation and the current national building and development. President Hun Sen expressed thanks to Vietnam for its assistance in overthrowing the Pol Pot genocidal regime and revitalizing the nation.
Gen. Giang reported to President Hun Sen on the results of his earlier talks with Gen. Tea Seiha, Deputy PM and Defense Minister of Cambodia and the meeting with his Cambodian and Laos counterparts. He hoped that President Hun Sen would pay attention to and support functional agencies to work closely with the defense ministries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to carry out defense cooperation contents in a comprehensive, effective and practical manner.
Earlier, on the morning the same day, Gen. Giang and the Vietnamese delegation visited the Win-Win Memorial in Phnom Penh.
