At the field exercise at sea

At 7am, Frigate 012-Ly Thai To and other ASEAN naval ships expeditiously carried out contents of the exercise. Accordingly, the ships moved from Pattaya Bay to the point of intended movement (PIM) to build up the formation for aerial photography (PHOTEX) and join the maneuvering exercise (MANEX). Then, ships gradually moved to their new positions to form the fan shape around Ship KD Lekiu of Malaysia. The formation broke and formed the shape of number 50 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN establishment.

Other contents of the exercise were conducted as planned, including maritime interception of illegal activities at sea, supply at sea, airborne supply, and naval information and communication activities.

The field exercise was conducted along the distance of more than 100 nautical miles. Frigate 012-Ly Thai To and other ASEAN naval ships successfully fulfilled all the exercise contents, meeting all requirements, ensuring safety for both personnel and equipment. After the exercise, the ship returned to Chuk-Samet port for docking.

A meeting was held on November 22 for participating forces to consider lessons learnt. The closing ceremony of AMNEX-1 was held on the same day at the Fleet Training Center at Chuk-Samet port.
