Visiting Company 27, Border Brigade 314, the Vietnamese and Chinese defense ministers hoped that cooperation in border management and protection, especially between the two border management and protection forces, border units and localities of Vietnam and China would be further bolstered and gain practical outcomes; while maintaining the borderline and national landmarks, and ensuring political security and social order.

Speaking at the event, Chief of the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Hoang Huu Chien expressed his impression of the unit’s achievements, traditions, and construction. He also thanked the Southern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army of China for coordinating with the Vietnam Border Guard Command to direct border units to work closely in border management and protection.

He expressed his belief that in the time ahead, the Southern Theater Command, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan province and Company 27, Border Guard Brigade 314 would boost cooperation with the Vietnamese side, contributing to building the borderline of stability, peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

After that, the two defense ministers and delegates visited a photo exhibition in celebration of the 10 years of Vietnam - China border defense friendship exchange, featuring important milestones during exchanges over the past time.

The exchange has been held for eight times, becoming an effective cooperative model, showing determination of the two sides in enhancing solidarity and friendship as well as the ties between the two sides’ peoples, localities, and defense ministries, in order to together build the borderline of peace, solidarity, cooperation and development.

Concluding the tour, Chinese Defense Minister Three-star General Dong Jun chaired a banquet for his Vietnamese counterpart General Phan Van Giang and delegates.

Addressing the event, the Chinese defense minister believed that under the sound leadership of the two parties, the China - Vietnam relations will be further tightened, bringing happiness to the two peoples, and boost cooperation between the two militaries, for peace of each country and the region as well.

On the afternoon of April 12, the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry, led by Defense Minister Phan Van Giang, headed home, successfully concluding the eighth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
