Defense Minister receives outgoing Lao Ambassador
PANO - Minister of National Defense General Ngo Xuan Lich hosted a reception on September 5 for out-going Lao Ambassador Thongsavanh Phomvihane who has just finished his working term in Vietnam.
During the reception at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, General Lich congratulated the Lao diplomat on his achievements during his tenure in Vietnam and highly appreciated his practical and effective contributions to developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, including the defense ties.
The Vietnamese Defense Minister emphasized that during the guest’s tenure, the two countries’ multifaceted cooperation has developed strongly, bringing about practical benefits. Besides, the defense cooperation has continued being considered one of the important cooperation pillars and received a lot of attention from senior leaders of the two countries and two militaries.

The host believed that in any future positions, the Lao Ambassador would make more contributions to promoting the trust and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, peoples and militaries.
For his part, the Lao Ambassador thanked the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and other relevant military agencies and units for supporting, creating favorable conditions for and closely cooperating with him, so that he could complete his missions.
The Lao diplomat expressed his delight at Vietnam’s fast development in all aspects in recent years. He confirmed that he will continue exerting all-out efforts to foster the fine relationship between the two countries, two militaries and two peoples.
