Gen. Chien congratulated the Chinese diplomat on his successful tenure in Vietnam and thanked him for his contribution to the relations between the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of China in particular and the two countries in general.

The host highlighted the counselor’s positive contribution, close coordination with Vietnamese functional agencies, effective connection role, active promotion of practical cooperation between the Vietnamese MND and the Chinese MPS and between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Chinese National Immigration Administration in border management and protection, entry and exit control, crime prevention, maintenance of security and order in border areas and at border gates, and effective realization of legal border documents and cooperation agreements.

Gen. Chien underlined the constant development of the relations between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Chinese National Immigration Administration and their increased trust and mutual understanding. He mentioned the successful organization of the young officer exchange between the Vietnamese border guard force and the Chinese immigration management force in Vietnam. He stressed that attainments in this cooperation demonstrated the close neighborliness, the comradeship and brotherliness between the two sides, thereby fostering the building of Vietnam-China border of peace, stability, friendship, cooperation, and development.

The Vietnamese defense leader said that the Vietnamese MND always pays attention to, is ready to further the cooperation with the Chinese MPS, and wishes to boost the coordination between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Chinese National Immigration Administration in an intensive, practical and effective manner.

He believed that in his new post, the diplomat would make more contribution to developing the ties between the Vietnamese MND and the Chinese MPS.

For his part, the Chinese official reviewed the outcomes of the two sides’ cooperation over the past time. He confirmed that he would further contribute to the relationships between the two countries in general and their border management and protection forces in particular.
