The ACAMM-25 was held under the theme “ASEAN Armies 2024: Strengthening Partnership and Camaraderie towards Regional Stability.” The discussions at the event affirmed that armies are the force directly carrying out activities within ASEAN's military and defense cooperation mechanisms, making great contribution to strengthening friendship, understanding, and trust among member states, thereby helping maintain ASEAN's central role and ensure a peaceful and stable environment in the region.

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia affirmed that in order to strengthen partnership and camaraderie and enhance the efficiency of cooperation among ASEAN armies to maintain regional stability, in the time to come, it is essential to continue to respect the fundamental principles, core values, and ASEAN's central role; reinforce and intensify the cohesion among member countries in ASEAN's military and defense cooperation in general, and ASEAN armies in particular.

The Vietnamese GS deputy chief also underscored the significance of promoting sharing information related to common issues via appropriate communication channels; boosting joint activities and exchange of delegations at all levels to enhance collaboration, especially in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, natural disaster, epidemic, climate change, natural disaster response, and environmental issues.

On the occasion, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia invited chiefs of the ASEAN Armies and defense industry enterprises of ASEAN member states to attend the second Vietnam International Defense Expo and activities in celebration of the 80th foundation anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, which will be held in Vietnam at the end of this year.

* Within the framework of the ACAMM-25, Gen. Nghia had bilateral meetings with head delegates of Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brunei to discuss measures to promote cooperation among ASEAN armies.
