Permanent member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet chaired the event.

Based on the decisions of the Standing Board of the CMC and the Minister of National Defense, Major General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Viettel Party Committee Secretary and Deputy General Director would retire from August 1. At the event, Gen. Nam handed over his duties to Maj. Gen. Tao Duc Thang, Viettel Party Committee  Vice Secretary, Chairman and General Director.

Gen. Thang received all handover documents. Delegates voiced opinions and agreed on the contents of the minutes of the handover ceremony.

In his speech, on behalf of the Standing Board of the CMC, the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP’s leaders, Gen. Quyet highly valued the preparation for the event.

He praised Viettel’s Party Committee and Board of Directors for their effective leadership and direction over building strong and healthy Party committees and organizations, a comprehensively strong group which has accomplished defense-security, production, and business missions and upheld its position as one of the leading enterprises in Vietnam in terms of communications and information technology.

To continue leading the group to fulfill its assignments, Gen. Quyet asked its Party Committee and Board of Directors to promptly stabilize situations in all aspects, especially concerning thoughts and organization, focusing on consolidating the group's Board of Directors and Secretary of the Party Committee.

He asked the group to enhance internal solidarity, build a comprehensively-strong, exemplary, and typical Party organization, and embrace higher levels’ directions and instructions to hold all-level Party congresses in the 2025-2030 period, towards the 12th Military Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.
