Viettel Telecom asked to uphold leading position in terms of telecoms
PANO - The Viettel Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel Telecom), an affiliate of the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th founding anniversary and receive the Second-class Labor Order on October 15 in Hanoi.
Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Defense Minister attended the event.
Over the past two decades, Viettel Telecom has seen strong development, affirmed its position and risen to become the number one business in Vietnam in terms of telecoms and information technology. It is one of the top 15 fastest growing telecoms companies in the world and ranks 28th in the world’s top 150 most valuable telecoms providers.
Addressing the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Chien congratulated Viettel Telecom and applauded the company’s achievements and development.
Regarding its future missions, General Chien asked Viettel Group to direct Viettel Telecom to embrace guidelines and policies of the Party, State, Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on combining economic development with defense consolidation.
The company was also urged to continue to innovate, improve management capacity, keep a close watch on domestic and international markets, and successfully carry out its digital transformation strategy.
The deputy defense minister affirmed that he believes that the company will bring into full play the tradition of a labor hero and try harder to deserve to be one of the leading companies in Vietnam in general and in the military in particular.
In his speech, Viettel Telecom’s General Director Cao Anh Son emphasized that the company targets to secure its number 1 position in mobile and fixed broadband market share in Vietnam in order to achieve the goal of becoming the leader in creating a digital society in Vietnam and obtaining a turnover of VND 100 trillion by 2025.
