Viettel Telecom launches run to raise funds for needy children’s heart surgery
PANO - The Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom), in association with the Vietnamese Heart Fund of the Vietnam Television, co-organized Viettel Fastest 2020 Run on October 4 with the participation of 1,500 Vietnamese and international runners.
The 10km run for professional, semi-professional, and amateur runners was part of the activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the foundation day of Viettel Telecom on October 15.

At the event, professional runners started at 5.30am, while semi-professional and new runners began the race one hour and 30 minutes and two hours and 30 minutes later, respectively.
At the finish line, Le Trung Duc (men’s category) and Pham Thi Hong Le (women’s category) finished first in the professional category with performances of 31 minutes 59 second and 35 minutes 59 second, respectively. In the semi-professional category, Bui The Anh and Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong crossed the finish line first. Athletes Ban Thanh Tuyen and Nguyen Thi Chuyen completed the race in the shortest time and won the category for new runners.
Talking about the race, Nguyen Quang Lap, Deputy Director of Viettel Telecom affirmed that Viettel Fastest not only created a professional playground for Vietnamese and foreign running lovers, but also facilitated a sporting movement in the community.
According to him, all proceeds from the sale of tickets to the race and number BIB belts will be used to fund surgeries for poor children with heart diseases through the program, “A Heart for You,” launched by Viettel and the Vietnamese Heart Fund of Vietnam Television. The deed demonstrates Viettel’s personnel’s care and responsibility for the community.
