Viettel Post joins North-South express freight trains
PANO - The Vietnam Railway (VNR) and Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) on July 1 launched a North-South express freight train route connecting Hanoi’s Yen Vien station and Song Than station in the Southern province of Binh Duong.

The 22-carriage container freight trains, which have a carrying capacity of up to 650 tons, will cover the 1,580km distance in 40 hours on a daily basis except for Sundays and Mondays.
The new route was designed to meet the increasing demand for transporting high-value and fragile goods between Hanoi and Southern industrial complexes.
Viettel Post is the biggest client of the freight trains, as its cargo fills 12 carriages out of the 22 ones. This is one great stride of Viettel Post in an effort to complete its ecosystem while optimizing its delivery services in terms of both time and costs.
Now customers may enjoy new North-South post services of Viettel Post, which are quicker and cheaper (saving up to 20% of costs compared with road services).
