Viettel asked to promote research and production of high-tech defense products

Speaking at the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Hoai Nam acknowledged and applauded the outstanding achievements obtained by Viettel over the past time, including the successful research, design and production of a number of modern and highly applicable technological products.

The deputy defense minister underlined that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense always create the most favorable conditions for Viettel to boost research and production of various high-tech products with dual-use and good quality, contributing to self-sufficiency in ensuring weapons and equipment; building of an elite, compact, strong, and gradually-modernized military; and the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, and national protection in the new situation.

In order to complete all set targets, Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Hoai Nam required Viettel to continue to effectively implement the Government’s Resolution No.3 on the action program on the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No.08, dated January 26, 2022, on promoting the development of the defense industry sector to 2030 and the following years.

Meanwhile, Viettel should closely coordinate with relevant units, particularly the General Department of Defense Industry in researching and manufacturing high-tech defense products and focus resources on research.

The group’s officials and staff should heighten the spirit of creativity and solidarity to overcome all difficulties and successfully complete all assigned tasks, Gen. Nam urged.
