Viettel pioneers in researching and successfully operating the first 5G SA network.

According to Viettel Telecoms, during the initial period, meCall will be provided for a small group of customers for free and will soon be deployed across the entire network.

Eligible customers (owning a smartphone with VoLTE, 4G/5G SIM) will be invited to test meCall with a default video. To change the waiting video to their taste, customers can visit the website https://mecall.vn or download meCall application and follow the instructions. Additionally, customers can also present waiting videos to their relatives and friends.

Previously, Viettel Telecoms took the lead in researching and installing the first 5G Standalone (SA) network in Vietnam. Unlike the 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) network developed on the 4G network infrastructure, the 5G SA network is a more advanced and completely independent version that helps improve flexibility, scalability and provision of many new services. Customers will have a better experience with new services on the 5G platform, such as meCall, on both the 5G and 5G SA networks.

Viettel Telecoms also launched a 4K quality movie-watching service on TV360. This is another application of 5G Viettel in daily life, gradually forming the 5G ecosystem.

Notably, the experience of watching 4K movies on TV360 will reach the highest quality if the customers use the 5G network, which will be provided nationwide by Viettel in the fourth quarter of this year. During the initial launch, Viettel will provide free 4G/5G Viettel data when watching 4K movies on TV360.
