NVIDIA works with Viettel
PANO - Within the framework of the visit to Vietnam, President and CEO of NVIDIA Corporation Jensen Huang had a working session with Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) Tao Duc Thang.

During the working session, Jensen Huang affirmed that Viettel and NVIDIA have a shared vision of the development of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. He showed his admiration that Viettel has created a revolution of mobile networks, making Vietnam leap from the personal computer (PC) industry to the mobile one, helping local people get access to technology.
NVIDIA CEO also spoke highly of Viettel’s contribution to the building of the country’s infrastructure, evaluating that it has offered an opportunity and created a foundation for Vietnam to develop digital intelligence.

For his part, Viettel Chairman Tao Duc Thang hoped that NVIDIA and Viettel would expand cooperation in two pillars of AI, namely supercomputing infrastructure and human resource training. Meanwhile, Viettel also proposed to collaborate with NVIDIA to build a supercomputing infrastructure using GPUs, with an immediate scale of 1,000 GPUs by 2025; as well as establish a training center in the fields of AI and human resources to build an ecosystem and promote AI innovation for both sides and the region.
Regarding the strategy for the building of an effective database center, Jensen Huang underlined that Viettel should give top priority to investing in centralized data centers instead of many small infrastructure works.

Jensen Huang shared experience in building large language models in the Vietnamese language and technology of famous generative AIs with Viettel AI’s personnel, evaluating it as a product within Viettel's reach in the next few years.
Viettel’s participation in NVIDIA's global partner network has marked an important milestone in realizing the national AI strategy, contributing to bringing Viettel's AI solutions to the international market.
