Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said that Directive No. 16/CT-TTg issued on May 4th, 2017 by the Prime Minister on enhancing the capacity of gaining access to Industry 4.0 has identified AI technology as one of the breakthrough technologies and spearheads of Industry 4.0.

The national digital transformation program by 2025 with a vision to 2030 has also emphasized important tasks focusing on the application of new technologies, especially AI technology that promotes a digital government, economy, and society in Vietnam, thus contributing to the comprehensive renovation of the Government's management and administration activities, the production and business activities of enterprises, and ways people live and work.

The Viettel AI Open Platform provides platform technologies using AI to create benefits for individuals, organizations and businesses.

The platform is currently focusing on areas such as Vietnamese speech processing technology (Speech Processing), Vietnamese natural language processing technology (Natural Language Processing), and computer vision technology (Computer Vision).

The Deputy Minister believes that with the advantages of a large technology corporation, Viettel will continue to invest in the research of new technologies to become one of the pioneering enterprises in digital transformation in Vietnam.
