It aimed to enhance information dissemination on the national sea and islands following the resolutions of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Resolution No.36-NQ/TW issued on October 22, 2018 by the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the sustainable development of Vietnamese marine economy to 2030 and a vision to 2045.
After nearly five months, the contest attracted 15 million registers. After four rounds of the weekly competition and semi-finals, the organizing panel selected 15 best candidates to enter the final round with direct elimination. The organizers awarded one first, one second, one third and two consolation prizes at the ceremony.
According to the assessment of the organizing panel, the contest created a healthy and useful playground for all Vietnamese citizens both at home and abroad as well as for foreigners working, living and studying in Vietnam. With innovative forms and diverse contents, the contest was an important political activity, contributing to encouraging the spirit of learning in the community as well as providing information and materials for research related to the national sea, islands, border and territory.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia praised and congratulated the winners of the contest, at the same time affirming that the event provided useful knowledge on the national sea and islands for the participants. The organizers hoped the contestants will be "ambassadors of information dissemination," contributing to spreading love and interest in the national sea, islands, and territorial sovereignty as the message of the contest.
He suggested the Party committees and authorities at all levels implement more practical activities to raise the awareness of the people, especially the young generation, of Vietnam’s sea and islands, contributing to promoting their patriotism and national pride as well as improving their responsibilities in safeguarding national territorial sovereignty.
