The contest was attended by 90 students representing over 4,000 students of the secondary schools of Nguyen Thai Binh and Vo Thi Sau in the city. The contest also had nearly 200 members of the Advisory Board who are officers and soldiers of Flotilla 42, Coast Guard Region 4; teachers and students from the two schools.

The contest focused on topics related to national sea and islands, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, Law on Vietnam Coast Guard; tradition of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Coast Guard Region 4 Command, dissemination about the harmful effects of drugs and school violence, among others. The program contributed to raising students’ awareness of national sea and islands, so as to promote their patriotism and reasonability towards national sovereignty and ensure security and safety over national sea and islands. It also enhanced military-civilian ties.

Awarding the winner

As a results, the organizing panel awarded the first prize to student from Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School and two second, two third and five consolation prizes to outstanding students during the contest.

Handing over 30 bicycles to needy students

On this occasion, the flotilla also handed over 30 bicycles and 20 scholarships to needy students with good academic records; and a television and two sets of drums to the two schools.
