Night Market - A cultural attraction in Tua Chua
PANO - The night market is a cultural activity aimed at preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups in Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province.
It also serves as a platform for local people to introduce and promote the region's products to tourists from both within and outside the province. Additionally, the night market plays a role in diversifying Tua Chua district's tourism offerings.
Tua Chua is a mountainous district located in the Northeast of Dien Bien province, approximately 126km from Dien Bien Phu city. This region has been generously blessed by nature with many favorable conditions for tourism development. Covering a natural area of 68,414.88 hectares, Tua Chua had a population of 61,017 people in 2020, belonging to seven ethnic groups, with ethnic minorities accounting for over 95%. The district has 12 communes and one townlet.
According to Deputy Head of the Culture and Information Department of Tua Chua district Dang Tien Cong, the Tua Chua night market is a unique product of the district.
The Tua Chua night market has been in operation since October 15, 2022. For nearly 1 year since its opening, the number of visitors to the market has been increasing week by week, which demonstrates the attractiveness of the night market to tourists.
