VUSTA appreciates outstanding intellectuals and scientists
PANO – The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) held a ceremony on November 2 in Hanoi to honor outstanding Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists in 2019.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh, and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong.

At the event, 112 outstanding intellectuals and scientists received logos and certificates of merit from the VUSTA. Notably, three of them, including Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh (Chairwoman of the Binh Dinh Union of Science and Technology Associations), Nguyen Huu Gioi (Chairman of the Vietnam Library Association) and Pham Huy Thuy (member of the Standing Committee of the Vinh Phuc Union of Science and Technology Associations), were proposed for Labor Orders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam acknowledged the contributions of the honored individuals and other intellectuals and scientists nationwide to the national construction and development cause. In addition, he urged them to make more contributions to the Government’s policy so as to further promote scientific and technological development. On the other hand, he hoped VUSTA will continue bringing into play their key role in gathering intellectuals and scientists and building a strong contingent of scientists and intellectuals.
The Deputy Prime Minister then presented certificates of merit from the Prime Minister to the seven excellent intellectuals and scientists at the ceremony.
