* On behalf of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy-Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics visited and congratulated the PAN on the 93rd Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

During the meeting, General Nghia underlined that the newspaper has fulfilled its mission in disseminating training, combat readiness and other missions of the military. In addition, the PAN also made great contributions in public opinion orientation to fight hostile forces' disinformation. Therefore, the PAN has affirmed its position and prestige in the Party, State and in the heart of Vietnamese people.

* Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy-Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee visited to congratulate the PAN on the press day. She said that the PAN is a key force in helping the Hanoi leadership reach right and timely decisions. The same day, Major General Doan Duy Khuong, Director of the Hanoi Police, visited and congratulated the PAN.

* Also on June 18, many representatives from the Ministries of Health, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs, and Construction, the General Department of Defense Industry, Military Industry-Telecoms Group Viettel, Army Corps 1, Military Region 3 and 4 Commands, Air Defense-Air Force Service, Vietnam Coast Guard Command, Military Central Hospital 108, Signal Corps, Tank-Armored Corps, Department of Finance (Ministry of National Defense), Dong Bac Coal Corporation (Ministry of National Defense), Military University of Culture and Artsalso congratulated the PAN on the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

* Meanwhile, the PAN held a ceremony to meet with experts on Party building under the chair of its Editor-in-Chief Major General Pham Van Huan.

The event draw the participation of journalist Ha Dang, former Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan (People's) Newspaper, former Permanent Deputy-Chief of the Central Commission for Ideology and Culture, and leaders from other civilian and military press agencies.

At the meeting, representatives affirmed that over the past time, the PAN has promoted its traditions, fulfilled information dissemination on Party building with many columns.

They also hoped that the PAN continues enhancing the information dissemination, contributing to building a strong Party, preventing political, ideological and moral degradation, “self-evolution” or “self-transformation” phenomena.

* Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Phong on June 19 also visited PAN’s reporters in its Office in Southern Vietnam. During the visit, he spoke highly of the unit’s great contributions in information dissemination and to the city’s socio-economic development, especially in the fight against “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” and peaceful evolution of hostile forces while building up the whole people's defense posture.

* The same day, a delegation led by Head of the Central Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong visited the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists’ Association in celebration of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Addressing the event, he re-affirmed the importance of press agencies in the cause of national construction and development.

In each phase of the revolution, press agencies play an important role in the fields of politics, culture, defense-security and economy.

He also asked them to continue promoting their responsibility and strength, contributing to implementing the fourth Party Central Resolution (12th term) on enhancing the work of Party building and revamping.

* Addressing the seminar “Press and Ho Chi Minh City together” on June 19, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan acknowledged the contribution of press agencies to the city’s socio-economic development.
