Accordingly, the Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee (VFFCC) marked the day and launched the 13th press awards “For the great unity of the national cause” for 2017-2018 period and an online magazine, the “Front”.
Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member, the VFFCC’s President and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee, thanked and sent best regards to press agencies and contingent of reporters and editors who have surmounted difficulties to provide up-to-date information related to the front to readers.
Nhan also highlighted their innovation and all-out efforts in contribution to the organization’s improvements and to the national construction and defense cause.
Emphasizing that the press acts as a bridge between people and the Party and authorities at all levels, Nhan hoped that each reporter and editor will fulfill their duties, contributing to raising people’s trust on the Party’s leadership and to national development.
Meanwhile, while visiting and congratulating the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army hoped that the newspaper would closely cooperate with the GPD to better its information dissemination.
For his part, member of the Party Committee, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Thuan Huu thanked the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP for their due concern and support in providing accurate and timely information related to defense and security missions in the current period.
The same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union presented the eighth “Young reporters” Awards to eight reporters and editors for their outstanding achievements in carrying out tasks, their good morals and active contributions to the city’s youth union organization work.
At a seminar hosted by the Hanoi University of Culture, senior journalists in the fields of culture, literature and arts shared their experiences and guided students on how to exploit information for their articles.
Also on June 19, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting for the press and enterprises. The participants confirmed the close and intertwined ties among them and hoped that the press will run more articles on both positive and negative activities to help boost development of Vietnamese business community.
