Media competition on poverty reduction kicked off
PANO - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Head of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programs for the 2016-2020 period, attended a ceremony to kick-start a competition for press stories on poverty reduction from 2016 to 2020 on January 5 in Hanoi.

The competition was launched by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, in association with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA).
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy PM Hue said that the competition aims to evoke attention of media agencies for poverty reduction; promote information dissemination on the Party’s policies and the State’s laws on poverty reduction; encourage outstanding examples who got out of poverty and helped others reduce poverty; share practical experiences, innovations and models on poverty reduction, as well as encourage reporters and individuals to actively popularize poverty reduction work.
The competition will help raise awareness and responsibility of people, authorities and organizations in implementing guidelines, policies and poverty reduction programs; and proposes ideas and practical solutions to saving resources for poverty reduction.
According to the organizing panel, media articles, reportages, or photos, published in all media platforms must be submitted before September 10 of the current year for awards. Awarding ceremonies will be held on October 17 of each year from 2017 to 2020, and the program debriefing ceremony will be held in October 2020.
