At the event

The activities included many joint activities such as searching for soldiers missing in action, clearing bombs and mines, detoxifying Agent Orange/dioxin-polluted land, and supporting Vietnamese people with disabilities in provinces exposed to Agent Orange/dioxin.

During the conference, delegates also discussed issues related to cooperation in war consequence settlement, including war legacies in the Vietnam-U.S. bilateral relations, the process and challenges of overcoming bomb and mine consequences from the perspective of the two countries, and the importance of dioxin detoxification.

The cooperation in overcoming war consequences plays an important role in paving the way for Vietnam and the United States to heal the wounds of war from both sides. It’s also an opportunity for the two countries to achieve cooperation in other areas such as economics, education, health, and security.
