Tons of UXO collected and defused
PANO – Engineering Brigade 25 of Military Region 9 detonated more than 10 tons of unexploded ordnances (UXO) left by the war in Vietnam at the Chi Lang firing range on January 5.
This amount of UXO was collected in the southern provinces of Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang and An Giang. Of them, the brigade found 39 bombs, including a 1,500lb (680kg) one.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the brigade, this was the unit’s large UXO collection for disposal and detonation in 2018.
Thanks to its troops’ efforts, the brigade successfully finished defusing the UXO while ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.
