Special art program on Truong Son soldiers held in Quang Tri
PANO - The Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the General Department of Political Affairs, the Vietnam Television, Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee and Corps 12 (Truong Son Construction Corporation) held a special art program titled “Truong Son - Bare feet, iron will” on May 19 at the Truong Son National War Cemetery in Quang Tri province.

The event was also organized to celebrate the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2024) and the 65th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the foundation day of Truong Son Corps (May 19, 1959 - 2024).
The program included three parts, namely “Where the legend begins,” “Miracles in the deep forest” and “Continuing to write the epic.” Apart from artistic performances, the program also featured reportages and touching stories about people who wrote the legend of Truong Son both in wartime and peacetime, among others.

Through the program, the organizing panel wanted to give attendants a better understanding of Truong Son soldiers during the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists; retold the stories about the construction of Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail - a strategic transportation route connecting the North and the Southern theater.
With extraordinary strength, Truong Son soldiers overcame all difficulties and hardships, were all determined to fight the enemy and clear the way to advance. Thanks to the Ho Chi Minh Trail, Corps 559 - Truong Son Soldiers transported more than 1.5 million tons of weapons and ammunition and 5.5 million tons of petrol and oil to the battlefields, contributing to completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.
