Results of Dioxin remediation technology discussed
PANO – The Department of Military Science under the Ministry of National Defense in association with relevant agencies organized a workshop in Hanoi on September 5 to review the results of applying dioxin remediation technology at a project in Da Nang Airport.
Papers delivered at the workshop confirmed the efforts and determination of the Government of Vietnam and agencies inside and outside the army to progress the research and evaluation of the dioxin impact on human health as well as measures to prevent any further spread and finally decontaminate all areas of toxic war-left chemicals and dioxin.
Handling the consequences of dioxin, Vietnam has also been well supported by some governments and international organizations, including the cooperation between USAID and the Air Defense – Air Force Service in the dioxin remediation project at Da Nang Airport.
Participants at the workshop focused the discussion on reviewing the results of applying the dioxin remediation technology at the project in Da Nang Airport and possibilities of applying this technology in future projects, including the dioxin remediation in Bien Hoa Airport, Dong Nai province.
