Delegates at the event

During the ceremony, delegates recalled the history of the national resistance war against the U.S., the tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Civil Medical Board of the Central Office for South Vietnam.

The board was established in 1963. It was tasked with coordinating with military medical personnel to give emergency aid to injured soldiers and civilians in temporarily occupied and liberated areas, and produce medicines, vaccines and simple medical equipment. Members of the board had to experience numerous difficulties and hardships during the war and move regularly to avoid airborne attacks of the enemy.

Since its establishment on November 27, 2008, the unit’s liaison board has served to connect its members and promote the tradition of supporting the community by conducting healthcare and social programs.

On behalf of the Party and State, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented the title to the liaison board of the Civil Medical Board of the Central Office for South Vietnam.
