Present at  the ceremony were former State Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; former permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Le Hong Anh; Dong Nai provincial leaders and veteran revolutionaries working in the War Zone D and the COSVN during the resistance wars against foreign invaders.

Addressing the ceremony, the provincial Party Committee’s Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong emphasized that the War Zone D is the pride of the revolution of the South and the whole country and the symbol of the high combat spirit of the hard but brave Eastern Region.

The zone, among other big war zones of Vietnam in the two national resistance wars against French colonialists and American imperialists, connected battlefields of the whole country and was a foundation to promote the people’s warfare, making important contributions to the national reunification.

Attentively, since the COSVN was founded in 1961, the zone undertook a vital role in securing absolute safety for the leadership of the Southern people’s fight against invaders and in building and developing armed and political forces.

The same day, the delegates in the ceremony offered incense at the commemorative stele for the COSVN and at the War Cemetery in Ma Da commune, Vinh Cuu district.
