Students learn about bombs and mines and how to avoid bomb and mine injuries.

More than 120 showcased exhibits feature losses, pains, and heavy consequences that Vietnamese people have been enduring due to unexploded ordnance (UXOs) left from the war. They also capture the Vietnamese Government’s all-out efforts and support from international organizations and individuals for overcoming the war aftermaths as well as raise awareness of people from all walks of life, especially the young, of bomb and mine injury prevention.

Major General Phung Ngoc Son, Commander of the Engineer Corps and VNMAC General Director explained the decision to choose Dak Lak province as the host of the display. This was due to the fact that the province witnessed the fiercest battles between Vietnamese troops and the enemy and was badly contaminated with bombs and mines with 143 out of its 157 communes affected.

On this occasion, the organizers disseminated information about bomb and mine injury prevention for students at schools in Buon Don district and Buon Ma Thuot city.

In the evening of December 9, the Dak Lak cultural center hosted an exchange titled “Joining hands in surmounting consequences of bombs and mines left from the war”.
