PANO - Implementing the movements and campaigns launched by the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and localities, in the first phase of this year, agencies and units in the whole military have joined hands in the building of new-style rural areas in 758 communes.

In particular, the agencies and units have donated 855,600 working days; built and repaired more than 400 kilometers of road; dredged local drainage systems; fixed 742 war cemeteries, presented 350 gratitude and great solidarity houses to needy people; repaired 550 houses for policy beneficiaries and families with extremely difficult conditions; provided free health check-ups and medicines for more than 240,000 peoples; inquired after and presented gifts to more than 35,000 policy beneficiaries; and built cultural and sports projects for ethnic people; to name but a few.

The total cost is over VND 60 billion. The results of the implementation of movements and the mass mobilization work of the whole military have been highly appreciated by the local authorities and people, contributing to consolidating the close ties between the military and civilians.
