In a solemn atmosphere, delegates spent a minute of silence to pay tribute to Professor, Academician, Major General and Labor Hero Tran Dai Nghia who was trusted by President Ho Chi Minh and took charge of the task of building the defense industry sector.

Prof. Tran Dai Nghia was born on September 13, 1913. He was a great scientist of the Vietnamese revolution, the first Academician of the Academy of Sciences in Vietnam. As an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, an excellent son of hometown Vinh Long, he made great contribution to the cause of national liberation and reunification. On November 20, 1948, Tran Dai Nghia was promoted to Major General at the age of 35. In 1952, he was among the first of the country to be honored with the title of Hero of Labor.
