Fishermen on trawler PY 90631 TS receive national flags and life-jackets.

During this period of time, the center welcomed 16 trawlers with 96 fishermen from Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen to the dry lock on Sinh Ton Island to rest and consolidate their fishing equipment.

According to Lieutenant Doan Trung Kien, Commanding Officer of the center, in the past few days, due to strong northeast monsoon in combination with moonlight, fishermen found ineffective to go fishing; therefore, various trawlers operating in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago had to stay on Sinh Ton Island, where they strengthened their fishing equipment and get more fresh water.

During their stay on the island, the fishermen have received support from the center’s staff to anchor the trawlers in a safe place, provided with fresh water, national flags and life-jackets.
