Island troops present national flags and gifts to fishermen
PANO - Troops stationed in Sinh Ton (Sin Cowe) island commune, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province provided basic necessities, fresh water and handed over 20 national flags to fishermen on December 19.

The necessities including instant noodles, cooking oil, and other food were presented before trawlers left Sinh Ton Island to continue fishing offshore in the Truong Sa (Spratly) fishing ground.
Due to the impact of the ninth storm Rai, 47 trawlers with 558 fishermen have maneuvered to the dry lock of Sinh Ton Island to take shelter since December 17.
The island troops have teamed with the lock’s personnel to assist fishermen to tie up their equipment and fishing gear on trawlers and provide them with food and fresh water.
Moreover, after taking the fishermen to the island, troops have provided them with accommodations and ensure safety for them during the storm. The island’s military medical staff has maintained duties, stayed ready to examine and treat them.
While giving assistance to trawlers and fishermen, all forces on the island strictly observe COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
