Island troops present gifts to fishermen
PANO – Officers and soldiers stationed in Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island, Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province on December 20 handed over gifts and necessities to fishermen.
The gifts, including a box of instant noodles, two national flags, and 1.5 liters of fresh water each, were presented to fishermen on 15 fishing trawlers before the trawlers left Song Tu Tay Island to continue fishing offshore in Truong Sa (Spratly) fishing ground.

Earlier, due to the impact of the ninth storm Rai, 15 trawlers with 84 fishermen on board have maneuvered to the dry lock of Song Tu Tay Island to take shelter.
After receiving the fishermen, troops stationed in Song Tu Tay Island provided them with accommodation, food, fresh water, and ensure safety for them during the storm. The island’s military medical personnel have regularly conducted medical examinations for them.
While giving assistance to trawlers and fishermen, all forces on the island strictly followed COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
