On behalf of the delegation, General Quy handed over 10 gifts, worth VND 4 million each, to policy beneficiaries and national contributors in the province’s Dien Bien Phu city.

In his speech, General Quy underlined guidelines and policies by the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on taking care of policy beneficiaries and national contributors across the country, contributing to stabilizing their life.

Offering incense to war martyrs at National War Cemetery A1

Meanwhile, the Department of Finance alone has actively rolled out gratitude and social welfare activities over the past time.

According to General Quy, the department annually organizes many meaningful projects, such as offering incense to martyrs, giving financial assistance to upgrade war cemeteries and build gratitude houses, and visiting and gifting wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives, and needy households nationwide.

On this occasion, the delegation offered incense to late General Vo Nguyen Giap and toured the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Headquarters; and offered incense and flowers in tribute to war martyrs at a temple in Dien Bien Phu battlefield and National War Cemetery A1 in Dien Bien Phu city.

* On the same day, the Military Medical University (MMU) held a social welfare program in Dai Thang commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province.

Inquiring after local people

Accordingly, over 100 skillful doctors and nurses from the MMU’s Military Hospital 103 provided free health check-ups and medicines to over 500 needy residents. The MMU also presented 20 gifts, two sets of computers, 15 bicycles, and VND 20 million in cash to local people and students.

Especially, the MMU unveiled and handed over financial support to build two gratitude houses for poor families in the commune.

Since the beginning of this July, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), the MMU supported the construction of 14 gratitude houses, and sent 11 missions to provide free health check-ups and medicines to nearly 2,400 people and give 160 gifts to national contributors and needy households across the country.
